David Parker
Dr. David Parker is an educator, consultant, motivational artist and author of books for children. David's educational and professional background is dynamic and diverse and includes Social Work, Education and the Performing Arts. His Social Work perspective is at the foundation of his work in each of these areas throughout his career and his life. David utilizes his dynamic and diverse educational and professional background to guide organizations in creating and sustaining authentically-inclusive communities. He focuses on the impact of implicit bias has on perception, behavior, and policy. Through interactive client-focused keynotes, workshops, participants explore and examine implicit bias through the lens of compassion and empathy. This meaningful learning connects the concept of implicit bias to improved relationships with others. David co-teaches a dialogue model course at the University of Utah in the College of Social Work and is also a teaching fellow with the Transforming Classrooms into Inclusive Communities project at the University of Utah.

One of his proudest achievements is that he is the author of the “BEST ME I Can Be” book series, a highly-successful 32 book series published by Scholastic, Inc. The series focuses on character development for emergent and fluent readers. Dr. Parker earned his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on cultural transformation from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh PA. He relocated to Salt Lake City in June of 2010. In his free time, David enjoys the Performing Arts and golf as well as peanut butter and jelly, especially discussing the scores of ways one can prepare a sandwich.
