Happily Ever After: LGBTQ Children's Books

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

This session offers participants a hands-on introduction to different types of children’s and middle reader books that feature lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning themes and characters. Innovative books like “George,” “And Tango Makes Three,” and “I am Jazz,” among others, can be useful tools for creating inclusive spaces for LGBTQ young people and families, and for facilitating conversations with youth about gender variance, unconscious bias, and family diversity. Participants will be given resources for guiding discussion, prompting questions, and intervention strategies to ensure conversations are safe, productive, and engaging for youth.
