If you are looking for “ready to use” lessons that teach MyPlate nutrition, fun physical activity and healthy snacks, then this is the workshop for you! The curriculum has six lessons that are targeted to 1-3rd graders, but can be adapted for all elementary school ages. We will also share and practice tips and strategies for designing and delivering engaging lessons to elementary school students.


Darlene Christensen

Associate Extension Professor, Utah State University Extension
Darlene Christensen has been with Utah State University Extension for 15 years. In addition to serving as the supervisor for Tooele County SNAP-ed program, she is the state-wide youth program coordinator.

Hiram Wigant

Create Better Health Ambassador, Utah State University | Create Better Health
Hiram Wigant has teaching experience both as an After School Educator and an Elementary School Teacher. He currently works as a Create Better Health Ambassador for the Utah SNAP-Ed program with an emphasis on providing quality health education to children and youth.
