Mental Health and Afterschool

Have you had youth who struggle in your program and you can’t figure out why? Perhaps the answer lies beyond what’s visible and is instead in the realm of mental health. In this session, you will learn about the most common mental health issues among teens, including depression, anxiety, trauma, autism, and self-harming behaviors, and what you and your staff can do to help these precious youth.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, University Neuropsychiatric Institute

Michael began working with youth in 2003 at an afterschool program. He pursued Bachelors and Masters degrees in Social Work in order to learn how to help the youth who most struggled in his ASP.
